In December 2019, Dottie was rescued from a shelter in Pahrump, Nevada, a rural town about an hour from Vegas, after she was picked up by animal control when she was found wandering the streets. We found out that this brave individual escaped from a situation where she was set to be sold, killed and eaten. When Tara from All Friends found out about her, the plan to rescue her and bring her back to Vegas was put into motion. We helped organize an emergency volunteer event to help build an area for her, and it was so amazing to watch her grow. She was strong, fast and agile like an athlete, and she was always a playful, goofy, happy, giant toddler of a girl from the time she arrived at All Friends to her last days.
Tragically, in July 2020, Dottie passed away after battling a mysterious illness that progressed very rapidly. We were heartbroken over her passing, but deeply thankful that we had the opportunity to get to know this beautiful creature. She was truly loved by so many people, and she left behind so many broken hearts.
We love you, Dottie. Your memory will continue to live on in our hearts, and we will never forget you.
